Who was involved?

Rose Turner at Ditcham Park School, Hampshire.

What happened?

As part of the school’s ‘Environment Week’, we hosted online lessons for parents which provided a summary of the fundamental ideas of the climate and nature crisis whilst also introducing parents to the MEE approach and framework.

What role did we play?

Paul developed the content of the workshop as well as advertised, coordinated sign up and then hosted the event. We liaised with staff at the school to ensure the event linked to the school’s aims. We recorded and shared the video after the event.

What was the impact?

30 parents attended the event live whilst the recording was shared with the whole school community and viewed 60 more times after the event.

What can teachers learn from this?

Engaging the wider school community beyond young people and staff is an important part to affecting wider change. It’s easy to host an online event as an accessible space for people to come together remotely.
